Today, Remembrance Day. Still in Stratford, but a little different. We still did a morning's catch-up, as yesterday and the day before. Then we went out, Gertie and all, to do a four-day shop at the local Morrison's supermarket.
We decided not to go directly back to the Leisure Centre, but instead to go out to the Alcester McDonald's — there were a few things Suzie needed to do on the net, and it was easier out there than in the Stratford McDonald's. Turned out to be not such a good decision, as we got into conversation with a very talkative Brit, and it was all Suzie could do to get her internet tasks done! But she did, and then we went back to the Leisure Centre car park.
We had organized tickets for tonight's Royal Shakespeare Company show in the Swan Theatre — William Congreve's Love for Love, a delightful Restoration comedy, first performed in 1695. The staging owed a lot to Commedia dell'Arte — which was true to the period — and the audience was involved in the action right from the off! The review from The Stage criticised it for being a little over the top, but we enjoyed the performance immensely! (The review from The Guardian was a bit more enthusiastic!)
By the time the show had ended, it was well and truly bedtime for these two weary travellers!

Congreve was a shrewd watcher of people and manners of his day was he not? The essential nature of humans does not change much does it unless it is ISAL. Love ya Cathy
