Drove back down into Ashford, back to JCB Volkswagen. On the way in we passed the old Railway Works, which are in the throes of redevelopment.
Gertie spend her day up on the hoist, and we spent our time in the client area, blogging and writing up journals.
Turns out that the purported welding job on Gertie — which would have had to be outsourced — was just a piece of loose trim, readily fixed with two self-tapping screws! Gertie ended the day with just one outstanding thing to be done — the fog lights needed to be hooked up again. So we arranged to come back tomorrow. (Suzie was totally amazed to hear that we actually had fog lamps!)
Distance driven — today, 25 miles ( 41 km ); to date, 28,654 miles ( 46,115 km )
Best night sky on yet. Gertie is surely an amazing lady. Suzie!! Went to the Conservatorium concert tonight-sadly had to leave just as they started Brahms Eminor 'cello/piano sonata-heard 5 mins of the allegro-sounded wonderful too-but dear David had driven into town to pick me up to save me a late night bus trip home. it was like going home for me back at the Con. and listening to a concert Modern works, tributes to Brahms-really lovely night. You look to be back in familiar territory-more shuttling to come? Anyway, take care, Love ya, cathy
