Today we left Madrid. Took our time getting out — did a lot more computing before finally leaving the campsite at about 2pm. Before leaving, did a little housekeeping on the van to set it up for our next stint of travel, and Warren finally got the blog pretty-much up to date.
Then we left for the short drive to Toledo, and stopped off at Macca's just short of Toledo for some more computer time. Warren refreshed the operating system of his computer, which has been having keyboard issues for some time — keyboard issues now solved, but a lot more issues have cropped up that will now need to be worked on. This will be done slowly over the next few weeks, but hopefully they won't cramp our style in the meantime! One of the results of this, however, is that the blog entries for a few days will be photograph-free — luckily we're not doing anything much that needs photos to be shared with you!
We went down to the carpark we've been using, Parque de Safont, just outside the city walls of Toledo. Will be doing a little exploring of Toledo tomorrow, and then Suzie's final dental appointment on the 10th! Then we'll be free to continue on our journey!
Distance driven — today, 44 miles ( 71 km ); to date, 15,076 miles ( 24,263 km )
Thanks. I got one blog without the archive attached. But once I hit comment up came archive, so must go back to see yesterday and the day before. Glad you are OK. Love Cathy
ReplyDeleteI Wondered. Still the anticipation of the future vistas is exciting, once hings are inplace again. Am going through the hell of re-registering as a nurse so I can teach again. It took 3 hours in one place going over 40 years' of documentation at ANRHA (or whatever-used to be our Nurses' Board and much simpler and heaps cheaper). Finding the bloody office took me half an hour too. But the staff were wonderfully helpful. If it goes through the Board meeting in April it will cost $300 and in May all the re-registrations go in, so it will be another $300 if I am reinstated as a Nurse Educator/researcher a month later. I'll see if they'll take pity and let me pay just for April/May. I can get an advance payment for that, I'm taking my time to get the Int. Police clearance and hope it falls into the May board meeting, not the April one. Don't need it until second semester anyway now. Then one and a half hours with the Police. (Uni requires 3 police clearances and I'd omitted one as I didn't think it applicable (Aged Care) so a very nice sergeant took pity on me and printed it out. My doctor had signed them for me and the police couldn't just add their witness signs and stamps. I had to do them all over again. And so that's gone off- thank the lord the Postmaster took pity on me and I got the three off for the price of one ($55). Hope to teach in Semester 2 now. I still have to get my International police clearance for the time I spent in Scotland in 1967! ! Lots of Love Cathy,PS Keep on 'photo-ing' Warren then on a rest day you can just send off a suite of pictures, labelled look at a, b, c. Your photographic talents are enormous mate. Well worth a flooded floor! :) and a :( cranky flat mate!
