Decided to spend a little time in Macca's, to get the disk recovery under way. From here, we put in a day of driving, back up to Vitoria-Gasteiz, where we've been before, and the Basque Country. Tomorrow we will strike out for France, taking our journey through Gernika, the site of the 1937 bombing commemorated in Picasso's famous painting.
Distance driven — today, 293 miles ( 472 km ); to date, 15,386 miles ( 24,762 km )
What an interesting drive. The landscapes puzzle somewhat. The hills look as though they are salt mounds or sand dunes. Why are they so pale? As you say, the bull appeared again but this time looked less realistic. The hay stacks look like fortresses don't they. Do they combust naturally or is being out in the open as they are enough to prevent that? The many bridges and castle looking things are picturesque are they not. I like the river scenes with bridges. Glad the police recognised the precious visitors they were hosting. The greenery is I suppose their spring/summer colour. not as rich as in UK. Am still ploughing through the Lit search. I cannot understand people writing so many. I gather I have to do a couple myself but as yet I'm not enthused about revealing my thoughts. Oh well, keep Macca-ing on. Love Cathy J.
ReplyDeleteCathie we love reading your comments and appreciate them, and agree with them.
ReplyDeleteHave no idea why the soil is so white......things grow in it which is even more bewildering.
We have to be out of Europe by the first week in April and so we are dashing across France.Lots of driving days not much touring but we will get back to it.
I do wish that you lived next door,we could chat about your study.
