We drove into Belgium, and decided to call off at a shop for lunch. We dropped into the little farming town of Carlsbourg, only to find the whole place closed (as, we suspect, was the whole of Belgium) — after all, it was Saturday afternoon.
So we continued on into France. where we went into the town of Sedan, and found all the shops open and the whole town buzzing! We were able to do a four-day shop at the local E. Leclerc supermarket before continuing on.
We finally stopped off in the Aire de Gueux, just outside Reims, and within easy journeying distance to Paris for tomorrow. And the place has good WiFi, which means we can keep in contact with the family at this time.
Distance driven — today, 160 miles ( 258 km ); to date, 29,688 miles ( 47,779 km )
Loved the red creeper on the wall with the red car at base. Was it the same one you saw smoking. Alfie passed away three days ago and we are car less thank God. Buses suit me. David doesn't mind them either. Love Cathy
