Another travel day through Poland, getting closer to Warsaw.
At one point, the road the Garmin wanted to take us on was closed for roadworks. After a bit of shuffling around, we finally paralleled that route, but through the city of Łódź, at peak hour, and again negotiating massive road (and tram) works.
We finally found the rest stop we were aiming at — MOP Niesułków — only about an hour later than planned — and settled in near the picnic tables and a really well set up (and new) toilet and shower block. This spot was very popular, both with the truckies, and with family groups stopping to break their journey. By the way, service stations are called Miejsce obsługi podróżnych in Polish, which is commonly abbreviated to MOP.
Distance driven — today, 207 miles ( 333 km ); to date, 24,969 miles ( 40,184 km )
Poland looks very neat doesn't it. Roadworks galore. I said Darcy was 122 I think but you can take off 110 years and it will be nearer the mark. Looks like square hay bales rather than rain-bonneted stooks of hay in Poland. Glad the facilities were nice and clean. i imagine a lot of them are iffy as they are here. The universal signs are a help aren't they? I can hear Nick making coffee. must get out and get one. He's got the combustion heater going and it's lovely and warm. They say it is going to keep raining here until September, even tho' there's an el nino about.. What fun. the ground water tables are going to love it.
