Another travel day — Bratislava to Vienna! Remember, Bratislava (Preßburg) used to be regarded as an outer suburb of Vienna, so it's not far, only about 65 kilometres.
Little to remark — we bade goodbye to Bratislava, the roads were good, the road signs perhaps a little intimidating, the border crossing another ex-crossing since the Shengen Treaty. We had noticed a large wind farm from the Bratislava Castle. It turns out that most of this was in Austria — the first 20km in Austria was through this huge 'plantation' of wind turbines!
Got to Vienna, and spent a couple of hours in Macca's for WiFi — just as well, as neither the campsite we had come from nor the one we were going to tonight had internet worth mentioning, so there was a lot of catchup to be done!
We got to Camping Neue Donau, which was very convenient to the city — a short walk to the U-Bahn, a train from Donaustadtbrücke to Praterstern, change for Stephansplatz and you come up right in the central square of Vienna — but more of this tomorrow!
Distance driven — today, 69 miles ( 111 km ); to date, 24,406 miles ( 39,278 km )
Vienna is the one city in Europe I'd most like to visit. Perhaps if the Cotutelle comes true, I'll do a short trip there just for a few days as a treat. So please find me links to cheap student travel and backpackers places there Warren, if they cater for we poor tourists. Look forward to tomorrow, Love Cathy
