Not much to report today. After watching the truckers in the car park out front having their breakfast, we left our secluded spot by the cornfield and drove through the Czech Republic to Prague. Much of the road was of the old bumpy concrete variety that we remembered from the German Austobahns. The theme of roadworks throughout Europe still continues.
We got to Prague, coming in past the Hauiptbahnhof, and drove, following the Garmin, to our campsite. Roadworks again intervened, and sent us off the path we were meaning to take, but a young fellow from the campsite was standing at the crucial turnoff with a sign pointing the way.
We got to Riverside Camping to find a really pleasant welcome. We set ourselves up in our spot. Not long after, the black clouds that had been threatening for some time, delivered their burden — a wild thunderstorm, lasting about 15 minutes. The van was rocking in the buffeting winds, but we felt safe and secure, and before long the sun came out and was beaming warmly upon us!
Distance driven — today, 99 miles ( 160 km ); to date, 24,619 miles ( 39,621 km )
Did it again! I wonder who gets all the lost messages. Camp area looks nice. Prague an historic place. Glad the roads are being fixed. Hope you enjoy Czeck Republic. How many Kms have you travelled so far and how many photos have you taken? Love Cathy
ReplyDelete40,200 km -- all driven by Suzie!.And, as for photos, say an average of about 200 per day, and we've been travelling 15½ months -- so about 90,000! They're not all going up in the blog!
ReplyDeleteNearly unbelievable effort from both driver and photographer - but obviously worthwhile!!
ReplyDeleteLoving these opportunities to catch up with your Blog.
Best to you both : )
