2 Feb 2015. <ES> Sevilla, Andalucia —
Today we drove from Marchena to Sevilla. This wasn't a difficult drive — only about 80 km, all on major roads. Because of this, not a particularly interesting drive (especially when compared with the last few days). We were aiming for an aire at Gelves, a riverside suburb of Seville. We got there just before 2pm, which was just as well, as the office was just about to close. This is nor a free aire, but charges €12.10 per night - but for this you get electricity, WiFi access (albeit flaky except from about 10pm to about 7am) — but, above all, security!
Seville, unfortunately, is a hotbed of crime, so having the van locked into secure environment is a definite bonus. We will be staying here for probably 4 nights, so €100 is a cheap price for peace of mind. Another bonus is that there is a stop for the bus into town just outside. And there are quite good showers and toilets. Luxury! And we could have been camped on the banks of the Murray, looking over the boats on the river with a background of gum trees!

So we checked in, and then went down to a nearby Macca's for some internet time. This Macca's was a mixed blessing, as it had connectivity, but no power for us! So we spent a little time there, then came back to the aire to settle in for the night.

Distance driven — today, 62 miles ( 100 km ); to date, 12,390 miles ( 19,940 km )
