Today was simply a transition from Tallinn to Berlin — this time flying with airBaltic.
We got to the Tallinn airport by taxi — about a 20-minute drive, and were there in plenty of time for our scheduled takeoff of 10:40am, only to find it had been rescheduled to 1:30pm. No worries — Tallinn Airport is a cost, comfy place to wait around. There's plenty of coffee and eats, and they even provide a table-tennis table for waiting passengers to keep themselves occupied!
Ready to board for the 1:30 flight, and we found there was a further delay. We finally took off at 2pm.
The flight took only 75 minutes — we had a tail wind — and we landed in Berlin at 3:15pm.
No hiccups from here on. The taxi took us to our hotel, the Air in Berlin, just off the Kurfürstendamm, not far from the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, and a similar distance in the other direction to the Berlin Zoo — a brilliant spot to start our explorations.
Settled in, walked round the local block to get our bearings, had a stew-type dish in a local Turkish eatery (with the most delicious bread), got back to the hotel, did some blogging, and went to bed!
