Today we spent a few hours exploring Scarborough before picking up stakes and motoring off to Edinburgh.
We walked beneath the Spa Bridge, realizing that we had to watch out for aerial bombardment — seagulls were occupying every available space beneath the bridge!
The weather looked as if it was rather iffy, but the skies cleared after a while to allow us to go down to the beachfront on the funicular near our hotel, and we wandered around looking at the seaside attractions, and the donkey rides on the beach. Suzie really wanted to get down on the sand at Scarborough, and we succeeded.
On our way back to pick up the car, we found that the town was now alive, with the main street crowded.
The drive to Edinburgh was uneventful, and we arrived at the Holiday Inn on the Golden Mile, right in the middle of the Old Town, in time to settle in for a comfortable night.
