26 Aug 2015. <DK> Hylkedal Vest; <DE> Holmoorweg —
Another day of travel, from Hylkedal Vest (near Kolding in Denmark) to Holmoorweg Rest Stop, north of Hamburg.

We started the day with Suzie sitting and updating her journal. We are always amazed at how other vehicles seem to love Gertie — today, a lonely prime mover wanted to cuddle up close!

We crossed into Germany — again, no fuss, no bother — if we weren't looking for the border, we would have missed it!

We finally stopped or the night at Holmoorweg Rest Stop, about 27 km short of Hamburg. We had been talking during the day about the fact that we hadn't come across a Marché stop — they have had some of the best food of all on our travels. Guess what! Holmoorweg is a Marché concession!

Distance driven — today, 142 miles ( 228 km ); to date, 26,939 miles ( 43,356 km )

  1. Deutschland! With the most sensible president or chancellor anywhere. I have a lot of time for Angela Merckel. Glad you found a Marche. Is the food really good? What sort of medal do you like best there. They are having trouble with the poor devils of refugees there i gather. How the world can be such a cruel place I will never know.. Can you blame other vehicles for loving Gertie? Lovely picture of Suzie-but want one of you both please-ask a friendly German to take a few for all of us. The scenery is womderful but you two are the best. Liked the thatched roof pub . Glad you are back on the air. i worry when you're not, but know you are having a great time and very sensible what ever. Love ytou The Jones Crew.
