We were going to spend the day at the Tivoli, but the weather was so foul we decided to move on instead. We still have our memories of the Tivoli from the last trip here!
On the way out from the campsite, we remarked on a long wall that someone had painted with quite good dinosaur images. There is a huge difference between graffiti and street art!
On our way out of Copenhagen, we felt we could easily believe in an interstellar invasion by a new species — the bicycle. They are everywhere!
We crossed a couple of large bridges — one rivalled the Øresundsbron, across the Storebælt, the strait between Sjælland and Fyn (two of the major islands of Denmark), about 12 km wide. It too uses the island option, with a suspension bridge on one side and a box girder bridge (rather than a tunnel) on the other — but we don't think this island is man-made! The bridge is wide — two traffic lanes and an emergency lane in each direction, plus two railway lines on the side. (Øresundsbron puts the railway beneath the road traffic.)
Another shorter bridge, from Fyn to the Danish mainland, a little more driving, and we stopped at Hylkedal Vest, a little south of Kolding (still in Denmark) for the night. We finally watched The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel — here is a case where the sequel is almost better than the original. They take advantage of the plot to include a Bollywood-style dance sequence, which works wonderfully!
Distance driven — today, 149 miles ( 240 km ); to date, 26,797 miles ( 43,128 km )
No pink and white marshmallows in Denmark it would appear. Gertie looked dwarfed here. Can we have a photo of both of you please? Loved the white and red roofed Lego farmhouse.. That looked like a genuine old fashioned lighthouse on the hill. The little shops are cute and the big shopping centres from outside look universal. Glad you are well and moving on. Love, Cathy. David and Merri and Soph send love and say to keep safe.
