We left Troy to drive southwards towards Bergama (ancient Pergamon). Too far for one day. We drove down past Ayvacık, reaching the coast at Küçükkuyu, going round by Edremit and south near Ayvalik. We were driving through Turkish beach resort towns on the Aegean, with the Greek islands off the coast.
We eventually stopped off at a closed market site on the southern outskirts of Karaağaç, Biga, where we stayed the night, leaving us about 80 km to go to Bergama tomorrow.
We stopped along the way for Gertie to have a well-earned bath!

What a wonderful mishmash of old and new Warren. Gertie likes to do her Garbo bit doesn't she? She looked swamped with all the camp tents. What wonderful scenery..You must have travelled lighter with the dust of several countries washed from the poor girl. Some of the roads look OZ rural, otherwise pretty good., Bikes, Gophers (glad to see the crash helmet) The research is moving on apace. i am beginning to be up with the speakers in my own areas now, Wish I was as good on the computer. Attrended a Power Point session this morning and a theory club this evening. Tomorrow have a lecture in the am on digital recordings and then on on a rogue protein process in cancer cells, then I've a few free hours until we have to get ready for the FUSA Bollywood night, I feel whacked but it's not gunna beat me. I think it is time the world got busy getting rid of scammers, people traffickers, paedophiles and Dashunds, drug dealers, Militant groups, bikies, and anything else that is very annoying. ReplyDeleteHi. Just letting you know that we specifically passed on your love when we saw mum yesterday. She has been surprisingly bright and even introduced us to a staff lady who visits fortnightly to engage mum in tidying he room and flowers. She correctly said Dorothy was her daughter - in law and I was her son. We drew her attention to the many postcards, and she seemed to be aware of them.
