A day with Kay and Wang. Lots of chatting, catching up. We then decided to go out for a drive — not the van this time, but Wang driving us out, first round the end of the Loch to Attadale Gardens. This private garden has been opened to the public, and is being continually developed. Wang wandered about identifying the plants — some of which he himself had donated to the gardens. The large field outside the entrance is where the Lochcarron Highland Games will be held on Saturday week. We plan to do a little touring, hopefully as far as John o' Groats, and then get back here for the festivities! Should be fun. After wandering the gardens, the sound of the third train for the day arriving nearby announced to all that lunchtime was approaching.
Distance driven — today, nil ; to date, 3,869 miles ( 6,237 km )
We went over to Plockton for haddock and chips on the foreshore. Grumpy's, where we bought our fish and chips seven years ago, is still there, and still doing a roaring trade. It was helped a little, we suppose, by the school holiday aquatic activities that were happening on the loch while we were there! We walked along the village to a house at the other end owned by a friend of Kay's — she's not there, but we had a stickybeak at the renovations going on. Came back along the village, reaching the car just as a little rain decided to come down.
On the way back, Sue and Kay called in to the local laundry (which does the laundry for the cottage at the foot of the Tullich House property, that Kay and Wang let out to stalkers and walkers and other comers) to see if Lindy would be able to do our laundry tomorrow. She could, so add that to tomorrow's agenda!
Back home for more conversation — it's amazing how much catching up two girls need! — dinner, more conversation, and finally to sleep. Another perfect day!
