With Yeats Day behind us we needed a day to catch up with the past few days, so today was it. We went into the centre of Sligo for a relaxed walk around — found a couple of things to let us do some necessary running repairs, and also found that Yeats' statue had been restored to its previous dignity. Then Susie spent the morning catching up on her trip journal — not exactly a diary, more a detailed itinerary of where we'd been, what we'd done. Warren on the other hand spent the morning getting the last couple of days' blog entries ready for uploading. Then we moved across to Macca's to get the blog posted and to catch up on email. Well, we nearly did — as we were parking we noticed that the clouds had lifted from Maeve's Cairn, so we decided to go over and make the climb. Well, we drove to the foot of the hill, circumnavigated the foot of the hill, found no parking area to act as a base for our climb, found no road sufficient to allow our van to get nearer the top, so decided that Maeve deserved her privacy and we returned to Macca's to accomplish our previous intent. We then returned to where we had camped last night and settled in for the night. Not much to report on, but a very necessary rest/catch-up day!
Distance driven — today, 19 miles ( 31 km ); to date, 2,492 miles ( 4,011 km )
