A dull rainy start to the day. Warren's black eye is developing!
Went to McDonald's in Alcester for coffee and internet, but it started throwing us off, so we went on into Alcester itself, parking at Waitrose in the heart of town.
Walked the High Street (actually named High St.!) and found Transformers Hair Salon, where Suzie got her hair done. Warren walked the streets for a while — it's really a pretty town! Met up with Suzie and we went into Waitrose to buy something for lunch.
Then we went into Stratford to do a 4-day shop at Morrison's — eating lunch in the van in the carpark before we went in. We're planning a little driving, so Warren went to a Halford's for a couple more bottles of oil — we'll be really glad when the van issues are finally resolved! We're getting a bit nervous, as we are smelling rubber as we start up. We spoke to Richard, who told us the engine is with the engineers, that he may have it by Friday, but then still needs a couple of days to rebuild it.
Went back to the same layby, where we had tea, watched an episode of Elementary and two of Due South before calling it a day.
Distance driven — today, 40 miles ( 64 km ); to date, 9,782 miles ( 15,743 km )
