Basically this was a housekeeping and travelling day.
We both left the van behind the Stratford Leisure and Visitor Centre. Warren went across to Macca's to do some blogging, while Susie went in to find a hair salon — it was beginning to become urgent! We met up at Macca's, then left Stratford to go towards Gloucester and the people who would be able to correct the faults in the van. We stopped off on a layby to have lunch. By the way, this was a good day for travelling — the weather was showery, not an ideal day for being tourists.
We got in to Gloucester, and Hulin's motor works just after 3.30, so they could have a quick look at the vehicle to assess what needed to be done. The verdict wasn't good — the motor is shot, and needs to be replaced. They started phoning round to source one and — guess what — nothing available in the UK. But they did say they have a good source in Holland, just that it would take about a day longer to get here. So we wait to find out what will happen — we'll drop back to see them at about 10am tomorrow, and in the meantime we will go out to a nice deep layby we spotted on the A40, on the way in to Gloucester.
Distance driven — today, 17 miles ( 27 km ); to date, 7,595 miles ( 12,223 km )
