7 May 2014. <GB-WLS> Gowerton; Swansea, Swan —
Started in Gowerton. Rained hard overnight, but looks fine this morning!

Today is a laundry day. The laundrette is just round the corner. £3.60 per wash, so one dark - and 27 minutes at 20p per 3 minutes to dry — a total cost of one hour, and £9 ... plus a natter with the owner and her husband.

Then went in to Swansea for a look round. The Garmin did its usual trick and took us over a hill — a steep, narrow (less than 4 metres), winding country lane — and we met an oncoming car and had to back up to a passing point (fortunately only a few metres).

Susie at the Market
Parked in a Tesco car park for 2 hours while we walked the Swansea Market. Warren found fuses for his cigarette-lighter multiple adapter, which had blown only yesterday, and Susie found a knitting pattern and wool. All's good with the world!

By the time we came out into the open again, the weather had become cold and windy — 13° and wind chill factor feels pretty cold to us! Went back, moved the van to a Pay and display near the Swansea Marina, then wandered along Victoria Quay — where we met up with Dylan Thomas again — through the National Waterfront Museum, and then back (via the van to pick up the computer) to Starbucks in the popular Oxford Street to pick up our email and do yesterday's blog.

They have their own style of houses in Swansea!
Then back to Gowerton — it is, after all, simply a suburb of Swansea — where we will spend the night. Mumbles tomorrow.

Distance driven — today, 15 miles ( 24 km ); to date, 710 miles ( 1,143 km )
