A fine day. We decided to make tracks eastward, across to Cambridge and further east (where Warren has found quite a few places worth visiting), then start wending our way slowly back towards Gloucester to finally meet up with the engine when it is ready for us. Today, we basically drove, past Oxford, through Milton Keynes (where we stopped off to shop and to do a bit of computing around lunchtime) and then on just through Bedford on the way towards Cambridge, where we holed up for the night.
The lowlight for the day was our oil consumption — we put in 3 litres before starting out, had to add a further 3 litres when we reached Buckingham, and when we finally pulled up, a further 2 litres! This will keep on happening until the engine is swapped out, so it can't be too soon for us! Starting after the first top-up in the morning, we went through 5 litres of oil in 111 miles — or about 22 miles per litre. This sounds more like a fuel consumption figure than an oil consumption figure! Ah well — it's only a couple more weeks!
We watched the second of the Millennium trilogy, The Girl Who Played With Fire tonight — guess what's on the menu for tomorrow!
Distance driven — today, 130 miles ( 209 km ); to date, 8,819 miles ( 14,193 km )
